To sculpt (mold), add texture, separation and shine to all hair types, emulsify a small amount between palms and work amount between palms and work through dry hair."

Melissa Says: It's always nice when you know that the product you're using came from a company making strong efforts to be cruelty-free and close to nature. It's an added bonus when the product creates results you love. That's the case with this pomade, at least when I use it on my hair before blow drying.

I was very impressed with the difference it made in the smoothness and texture of my hair, without making it feel greasy. I was very careful about concentrating the product on the ends after thoroughly warming the small amount in my hands first, and then lightly smoothing the remainder on my palms up the rest of the surface of the strands. This also created a good amount of shine.

On dry hair, I thought this significantly reduced flyaways and added great shine, but when the hair is dry you have to be extra careful to use a tiny amount so it doesn't accumulate in some areas and weigh your hair down (if it's longer). My husband tested this out on dry hair as well, and thought it had a finished look and flexible light hold for short hair, but said he'd prefer something with a bit more holding power and texturization.

Review: Graham Webb Brit Style Whipped Wax

britstylewhipped.jpg What They Say: "From the edge of New York Fashion Week to the daily commute on the subway, Graham Webb’s Brit Style Whipped Wax will take you there and everywhere in between. Cropped haircuts are flooding salons with a vengeance – this gender-neutral product contains Beeswax and Palm to sculpt and style these looks with a soft, smooth, and airy hold. You’ll have all the benefits of a wax; however it’s in a crème format so it is lightweight and easily distributed through hair.

Mix a little of the Whipped Wax with mousse or other styling products for instant added softness, smoothness, and control. If you’re in a hurry and your hair is still wet, bring it with you and apply once you get to work. The crème format glides on evenly without leaving hands greasy or gooey. All Graham Webb products contain Thermacore Complex, a patented key ingredient that is activated upon the application of heat over 98 degrees, penetrating strength and moisture down into the hair shaft so that blow dryers and styling tools actually make hair healthier!"

Jamie’s Thoughts: I’m thankful for the very complete product description above, as it makes it easy for me to spend my portion of this review emphasizing to you how much I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. Yes, I’m breaking out the all caps for this one. It does all that it says above, and more. Allow me to explain. Last fall, I chopped 11 inches off of my hair and donated it to charity. I needed a haircut anyhow, and when my stylist suggested it, I thought, “Why not? It will grow back.” I did not, however, prepare myself for that period of re-growth. Suddenly, I was left with extremely short, curly hair and absolutely no idea how to style it. Enter Brit Style Whipped Wax…

This product has single handedly saved my awkward, now-3-months-grown-out hairstyle, and has kept me from looking like a backup dancer for Herman & The Hermits. I have put this wax through a litany of tests – it has passed every one, including the unexpected heat wave here in Chicago when the humidity jumped to about 70%. In the morning, I take a full dose (which is about the size of a quarter), emulsify it, and run it through my towel-dried hair – by the time I get to the office, it’s partially dry and totally in control. On the days I didn’t use it in the morning, I ended up needing it to combat midday frizz – another success. I also love it when straightening – it stands up to both my ceramic hairdryer and my ceramic flat iron, leaving my hair shiny, bouncy, and soft. If you have short hair, go out and buy this product as soon as you can. I also suggest it for curly girls, and am confident that it would also work on longer hair. And it smells good!

I will continue to use this product until it is discontinued, or until they have to pry it from my cold, dead hands. It’s THAT good. Now all I have to do is hope that my current supply lasts until they release the product to market in May.

Review: Graham Webb Brit Style Wax Pomade

britwaxpomade.jpgWhat They Say: "This unique wax pomade provides touchable hold while delivering soft control and second-day texture."

Melissa's DeLush Downlow: With my hair's tendency to have unruly ends even after a blowout or straightening, I usually need some sort of product to get that final finished look. Also, though my hair is mostly fine I have a LOT of it, so it also can look a little "big" after blowdrying without the right styling. This light pomade works to fix these things for me. It's not sticky and doesn't weigh the hair down while smoothing texture and even adding a bit of shine. It gets those flyaways under control and does indeed give your hair that bit of subtle pliability that you often have to wait a day or two for after washing to get.

User Tip: Obviously, you could always add too much of this and get weighed-down results (but that would take a lot of product), so be careful to concentrate on below mid-to-end areas of the hair first, and also just do the very ends of bangs avoiding the hair underneath that will directly touch your forehead if you have a tendency to get product-related zits (I do). Also, if you have extremely long hair with little to no layering, I'm not sure this would be as beneficial to you as it would to those with midlength-to-short hair with some layers or texturing. I can also see this as being a fablulous hair product for MEN.
