What They Say: "Revitalizing and conditioning Cucumber/Rose Essential Water refreshes slightly dirty, oily hair and vegetable enzyme neutralizes odors and leaves hair smelling clean. Natural extracts like white tea, almond, aloe, and pomegranate condition and add shine. Also can be used to refresh, hydrate, and condition skin. Product is 100 percent vegan and alcohol-free."
Jonathan on Redo: "A trick I learned from working on fashion shoots and runways - sometimes I just did not have time to wash and style models' dirty hair. So I mixed up my own botanical water infusion spray. It allowed me to rework and restyle sections of hair without shampooing and took away any stale odors. Soon the models were asking me for bottles of the "redo" and using it everywhere - on their skin - and anywhere including behind the scenes at fashion shows and even on airplane flights."
Jen's Experience: Finally! A product for people like me: who on occasion would like to sleep in just a little bit more, but have to get up in time to wash her hair. Well, even if you rise and shine with the the sun, I think you'll find this to be a handy product in your beauty regimen. I was totally surprised at how effective this solution is, and I think you will be, too!
A couple of sprays of Redo after you've got some product build-up or on slightly greasy hair will make the hair a little on the damp side. Once it dries, your hair will be revived and you can restyle it (and reapply other styling products) as you wish. This is a great product for refreshing your hair after a long day before you hit the town, or -- if you're like me -- fending off the inevitable bad hair day that results from hitting the snooze button one too many times. If it weren't liquid, this would totally be something I would bring on the plane with me for long flights to help my hair recover from the dry airplane air.
No matter what your use, this is a terrific product that really does what it claims to do. Even though it's not part of my daily beauty routine, it's a product I'm glad to have on my shelves!

Melissa's DeLush Downlow:
(about the Shampoo) This is a very interesting product. I've never felt a shampoo do this to my hair while washing before. What am I talking about? That weird somewhat dry feeling (while wet!), with very little sudsing (which is not a bad thing) and not necessarily a feeling that my hair was getting "dirty", but not that it was getting clean as we normally like it to feel. It was a little tangly and wiry feeling in the water, as if I'd added something to it that made it change greatly in texture. It felt "roughed up" in a way. I definitely was in a hurry to add a mild conditioner to ease that tangling, which disappeared immediately. (Good thing, because I really was nervous about the state of my hair's knottiness up to that moment.)
It did seem that my hair had in fact gotten quite clean while I combed it out, but it also felt a bit more textured still. After blowdrying my hair had more volume, though not extremely drastic, with no extra weight AT ALL.
(about the Serum) This is perhaps one of my favorite serums among all I've ever tried up to this point. It's not very greasy-feeling when you dispense it and warm in your hand, and when you apply it you aren't made suddenly aware that you've may have accidentally made some very vital clump of hair near your face FAR too slick. You know, how lots of anti-frizz serums have a TEENY TINY line between the right amount and EW YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WASH THIS GREASY MESS AGAIN TOMORROW? This one didn't do that. It soaked into my hair nicely (I used a little less than 2 dime-sized amounts on my not-quite-reaching-my-shoulders length hair). I of course made sure to concentrate it some on my ends and the ends of each layer, because that's where the hairs start to flip up and go crazy in humidity.
Let me just say this: You know how humid it's been in the Midwest and just about everywhere else, right? (If you don't relate please don't tell me. We don't want to hear about your fabulous temperate climate. It will only make us curse the humidity that much more.) Well, my hair stayed smooth but full of body when I was out and about on a particularly sticky day. And I had just washed my hair before heading out. Normally the first 8 hours after I do my hair is the most frizz-a-licious time until my natural oils kick back in and I've slept on it.
So, in other words? I loved it.

What We Thought:
Jen - (My hair is fine and requires a variety of volumizing products to have anything resembling body in the summmer.) I primarily use this product on damp hair, just before I blow dry. I use about three pumps of the great-smelling foam, which is not quite a palm-sized portion, and massage it into the scalp area, and then brush it down into the ends of my hair. I find that after blow-drying, my hair does seem thicker but still very touchable, not sticky at all. It definitely makes my hair really shiny and healthy looking, which is certainly an added benefit.
One thing this product lacks is any kind of texturizing ingredient. Because of that, my hair refuses to hold its style unless I use an additional product before styling (Jonathan Dirt Texturizing Paste is a good choice). I have a lot of layers, so losing my hairstyle is somewhat of a tragedy. My opinion of this volumizing foam may be tainted because I was previously using Paul Mitchell's Extra Body Mousse, which worked very well with my hair, giving it lots of texture and giving me a lot more options with my hair. For touchable, thicker hair, I think this is a good choice, but for those that require more texture and don't want to use an additional product, this may not be for you.
Melissa - (My hair is thick and prone to frizz; it's very "plenitful", yet fine in texture.) I tried this both on dry hair and wet hair. When using it dry, I applied a bit throughout my hair and then blowdried with a styling brush. I noticed a definite change in volume and thought to myself that if I had been getting ready to do an updo or half-updo, or even one of the new high-style ponytails, this would have helped give me lift and oomph with fairly touchable results (only a tiny bit sticky). So that I liked.
When I used it on wet hair, it was even more touchable afterward and had no stickiness. Now, may hair is a little thicker to begin with and I also have a lot of it, so I noticed no weighing down, no huge crazy poofiness on the other end of the spectrum, but just a nice "full" feeling that I could easily style to be soft and blowout-like or messy and bedheady with an additional product.
This definitely isn't so much a texturizer as it adds oomph to hair volume, so you may still want a texturizing product depending on the style you're going for and your hair type. But I have to say..I like this super-light foam. It gives hair like mine believable volume and didn't weigh it down at all. (And my husband thinks it smells good!)

About the shampoo: "Hawaiian white ginger and papaya extracts blended with Rosemary/Sage Essential Water to gently cleanse as sweet almond protein helps to improve the appearance of dry, damaged hair. An antioxidant-rich botanical blend and UV filters nourish hair from damage and help prevent color from fading. Even over-processed hair is left feeling soft, silky, and completely renewed. Sulfate-free and 100 percent vegan.
'My JONATHAN|product' sulfate-free shampoos are very different from regular shampoos that contain detergents. I do not use any hair-stripping, high foaming agents which give lots of lather but dry-out hair and fade hair color.
I use an extremely gentle, sugar foam in both shampoos which is rich and creamy -- never squeeky and bubbly. And the shampoos are very concentrated, so you do not have to use a lot, but it is important to thoroughly wet your hair under warm running water prior to applying. This opens the cuticle and allows the sugar foam to gently cleanse. And it is a two step process so my conditioners are formulated to work in combination with shampoos to leave hair healthy and protected.' - Jonathan"
Jen's Experience: I frequently use moisturizing shampoos on my hair. I have to -- it's dry from everyday styling and color treatments. In the summer, though, it's tricky because my hair's natural tendency is to become greasy and flat as soon as I walk out the door. Sometimes the extra moisture is just too much. With a product like Nexxus Therappe, my hair does really well, but I have to say, I did wasn't able to get the same amount of volume in my hair when I used this shampoo, with or without Jonathan Serious Volume Conditioner. It did make my hair look healthy and shiny. Just not enough oomph. I also wasn't crazy about the scent, but they definitely make up for it in other products in their line. I am putting this in my cabinet until winter, and I'll update you if the extra moisture is just what my hair needs in the dry, cold weather.
About the conditioner: "Limp, lifeless hair prone to static electricity, or hair needing a light, hydrating boost of moisture will be revived with this conditioner. Body-building Basil Essential Water combined with nutritive plant and sea extracts renew hair as sweet almond protein helps to strengthen, and essential oils and exotic butters like almond and mango help to condition. Antioxidant-rich botanicals, and thermal and UV filters shield hair from damage and help prevent color from fading. The results? Shine, softness, and superb manageability. Conditioner is 100 percent vegan."
Jen's Experience: I very rarely buy new conditioners. I've been using the same liter bottle of Sap Moss for at least two years, off and on. No matter which shampoo I use (most recently the Nexxus), it's worked for me. With this Jonathan conditioner, I've finally found a conditioner that I can use with a variety of shampoos to get even better results. It smells great when I'm using it, but when I'm out of the shower, I notice that my hair styles more easily and holds the style throughout the day. Plus, my hair doesn't feel as dry when I've been using it. I am curious now to try the Serious Volume shampoo to round out the set!

What They Say: "For irresistibly shiny, healthy-looking hair, this polishing gloss finishes off any style instantly. Adds brilliance with just a drop - and it's free of mineral oil, fragrance, and preservatives. Gloss is 100 percent vegan."
Jen's Experience: This weekend in the DeLush newsletter (subscribe here), we listed some tips for making your hair extra shiny. Well, one of the ways you can add shine to your hair is by adding a glossing product as the last step in your beauty routine. For a long time, I've used Frederic Fekkai's Technician Glaze, but just recently I've switched to Jonathan's Finishing Shine Polishing Gloss.
Like the Fekkai product, the Jonathan gloss does make my hair shiny and healthy - as long as I don't use too much. My hair is kind of long, and one drop is enough for me. Two drops is way, way too greasy. If your hair is above shoulder length, even one drop may be too much. Here's a tip: rub your hands together to disperse the gloss and then rub it on the underside of your hair before moving to the crown of your hair. That way, you're working with a much smaller amount on the visible part of your hair.
It's nice that it doesn't have any fragrance added; it doesn't compete with my perfume, for one, and for another, things with fragrance also tend to be somewhat drying.
All in all, this is a solid product for those who like a little extra shine. And while $26 may seem like a lot of money, just remember: at one drop per use, it will last a very long time.

What They Say: "This non-greasy, non-sticky, water-based texturizing paste is infused with Lemongrass Essential Water to add instant manageability to hair. Sweet almond protein helps to repair and strengthen as white tea, almond, horsetail, and nettle extracts nourish, stimulate, and condition. A potent antioxidant blend of natural plant botanicals combined with a UV filter work to protect hair and prevent color fading."
Jen's Experience: I am addicted to hair styling products, which means, I might use 3 or more every day. Something to detangle, something to help manage and hold my style, something for volume, something for shine. This had the potential for eliminating the need for some of these extra products, so I thought I'd give it a whirl.
This is definitely a product that does everything it claims. It makes my hair look healthier and shinier and it definitely holds style better. However -- you knew there would be a "however" though, right? -- I found it difficult to use at first. Too little and you won't see much of an effect. Too much and your hair could become an integral part of solving the world's oil crisis. The container says to use a very small amount, and following that advice is key to success. If you're patient and willing to do a little experimentation, I think you'll find this to be an excellent product that will leave your hair looking great, and smelling great as well.
Tip: I like to run my hands on the underside of my hair before running them through the surface. Much less potential for the grease effect. Also, this product says that it can be used wet or dry, but I like it best on dry to slightly damp hair.
